JenAct (Jenton Group) and Xenon launched an own Vitamin D-Booster

Already announced some time ago, JenAct (Jenton Group) and Xenon finally bring their Pulsed UV Light Conveyor for Vitamin D-Mushrooms on the market.

In line with the slogan “competition is good for business”, we would like to congratulate to JenAct (Jenton Group) and Xenon and to express our respect for this huge R&D effort, which is underlined by a statement of JenAct director Dr Jaromir Bilek: “With so many important and competing technical and financial factors, it was probably one of the most complex projects ever carried out within the Jenton Group’s 40+ year history.”

A major issue (picture) concerns however their technical solution for the warranty of continuous protection of operators during the UV treatment via four curtain strips which get in contact with all fresh mushrooms in the punnet! This solution leads unfortunately to cross-contaminations (hygiene rules for food) and to a high risk of discolorations and/or undesired spots on the mushrooms at points of contact. For the EU market and larger mushroom companies, we would like to suggest to copy our proven solution of slalom-tracked punnet guides with 100% UV protection.

Beside the technical deficiencies of using curtain strips and short life-time of Pulsed UV Light bulbs, we highly appreciate JenAct´s contribution to a more healthy diet for the UK consumer via fresh and delicious Vitamin D-Mushrooms!
